You can wear your jewelry every day. However, we recommend taking them off at night, before going to the gym or sauna.

To prevent damage and premature aging of your silver and gold pieces, it’s advisable to store them separately from other metals and costume jewelry. After taking off your jewelry, wipe it with a dry cloth to remove signs of wear. This will help maintain the brilliance for a longer period.

We recommend putting on your jewelry after applying alcohol-containing liquids (perfumes, lotions, tonics) and using chemical agents.

It’s also advisable to remove your jewelry before sleeping, engaging in physical activities, and visiting a sauna.

After swimming in water bodies, rinse your jewelry with clean water and then wipe it with a dry fabric or paper towel. This method helps remove deposits and traces of contact.

Since jewelry has its own intricacies and mechanisms, they require professional cleaning and periodic examination by specialists to address malfunctions and prevent breakage.

Precious and semi-precious stones, enamel, and pearls in jewelry have special cleaning conditions. They are more delicate and sensitive than metals, and many of them are sensitive to sudden temperature changes, perfumes, cosmetics, ultrasonic cleaning, household chemicals, and susceptible to mechanical impacts. Multiple items stored in the same box might scratch each other.

How to Clean Silver and Gold Jewelry Without Gemstones:

In case of tarnishing or soiling, clean the jewelry gently without using ammonia-based products. Rinse the pieces in warm water, dry them thoroughly, and polish with a specialized jewelry cloth to avoid leaving stains. Alternatively, you can use household methods by cleaning the item with toothpaste or baking soda, like sandpaper. However, they also have limitations: toothpaste is difficult to remove from intricate textures, and soda can leave micro-scratches on the item. After using one of these methods, rinse the item in soapy water, thoroughly remove abrasive residues, rinse in warm water, carefully dry, and polish with a soft cloth.

If you’re unsure about the proper cleaning method for your jewelry, consult a specialist before attempting any technique!

Sometimes, silver items undergo an effect called “oxidation,” where the recesses in the silver ornament darken intentionally to highlight the raised details and ornamentation. Clean and polish these items with care, avoiding contact with cleaning agents on the oxidized elements. If damaged, oxidation can be restored in a jewelry workshop.

Avoid subjecting your gold jewelry to household bleach, which can damage the surface and lead to decay. Store gold pieces in a separate pouch or box. Before long-term storage, wipe its surface with a soft cloth.

Cleaning won’t remove minor scratches from wear; it’s recommended to have polishing done at a jewelry workshop.

Keep in mind that your gold or silver piece might have a galvanic coating (rhodium, ruthenium, or gold plating). In case this coating wears off due to mechanical factors, color changes in the item may occur, which can’t be rectified through home cleaning.
